Backstory

If you have been a reader of DG in the past, you are probably wondering were we went for so long, and why there is NO content prior to a few days ago on the site. Long story short, I was a dumbass and didn’t make proper backups, and apparently I’m not as much of a web-geek as I thought, so DG is getting a start-from-scratch makeover. The few posts you see as of now are really just test-posts while I try and get the bugs worked out. Bear with me, and hopefully we’ll be back into the full swing again here real soon.

For those who are new… Ignore everything above and enjoy the reading :)

Open Invitation

InviteShareI stumbled upon a great site the other night, completely by accident.  InviteShare allows you to put your name on a waiting list to get an invite to all the really cool sites coming out, without having to wait for one of your other geek friends to acquire said invite and hope you are one of the few that gets hooked up.  Within 24 hours of being signed up and requesting invites to 5 of the newest (and hardest to get) sites, I had all 5 sitting in my inbox.

The site works on a bit of a “barter” system, and the idea is that when you get invited to a site, you go back to InviteShare and give out some or all of your invites to others who are waiting to get in.  It’s kind of like that commercial thats out there where someone gets keys to a car, goes where he wants, then gives the keys to someone else, and so on.  Check out InviteShare, it’s definiately a must-have for web-geeks, and anyone who likes to check out the newest, coolest sites out there!

BTW, my account is under “Len”, feel free to send me something cool :)

Sweet Vindication

I love my coffee, and I drink a lot of it.  Sure, I’ve had those who tell me that I shouldn’t drink it, it’s bad for me, it’ll keep me up, blah blah blah. Now comes information that I’m actually a health nut (well, kinda..).  Some new info out says it actually helps you with things like mental alertness and a reduced risk of disease.  Ahh, the sweet, sweet taste of Vindication (and a good dark-roast Columbian).

Groovin’ with the Shark

I spent the better part of the night tonight (between taking care of the wife and doing laundry) playing with GrooveShark. I haven’t really seen anything that sets it apart from, say Deezer or Project Playlist yet, but I’m still in the learning stages. I’ll do a full write-up on it when I’ve got a little more under my belt. Until then, I need some topic ideas. Send me an email (the addy is plastered all over this thing) and give me a few. Everything will be considered (but not necessarily used), and while you will get a big net-thank-you for the idea, the content is still mine :) Just put “GEEKLIFE: ” in the subject line so I know it isn’t a bunch of “you’ve got a small pecker” spam.
